laptop
Stega asked:

I have a linksys router connected to a desktop computer through an ethernet cable and my laptop connects to the router wirelessly. I am trying to figure out how to set it up so I can use the printer that is connected to the desktop through my laptop. I know you need to set up a network on the desktop and connect to it through the laptop, but I can’t figure it out. I have an emachines computer and a Toshiba vista laptop.

first go into the network application on your desktop and select that you want to share the printer

then, go to the network application on the laptop, let it search the network, and the printer should come up. Select it as your default.

Right-Click on the printer and select “SHARE” and give it a name so you will recognize it on the other computer.

Go in the Toshiba laptop and go in the printer & fax setup. Select “Add Printer”
It will ask you where the printer is. “Select Network”.
It will bring up a Browse menu and click on it. You should see the name of the printer you have just shared.

Click on it and give it a little time to connect to it. It should work first-hand. :)

Share the printer out.
Right click on the printer on the desk top
select share

on the lap top search for the name of the computer then the printer will be displayed. Right click select connect
